I'm here from Michigan today, and I want to share with you the story of Annmarie Stanesa. Annmarie was a vibrant woman who cared deeply for the mission of Beads
of Courage. She hosted many bead-making days with Michigan artists to help us get
the glass handmade beads we need to help children coping with serious illness record, tell and
own their stories of courage. The beautiful beads she donated with her fellow glass beadmakers were used often used as Act of Courage beads. Our members receive this bead on tough treatment days, and her artistry brightened the treatment journey of countless Beads of Courage members.
She lost her battle against colon cancer, and it
was her wish to give back to Beads of Courage. To honor her wishes, funds were
directed to Beads of Courage in her memory and raised with the sale of all
items in her bead-making studio.

teach whether it was teaching origami to the Boy Scouts, jewelry classes or
beadmaking. She had a passion to learn and to share her talent with others.

It is very humbling for Beads of Courage to establish the
Annmarie Stanesa Bead Scholar Program to bring more caring, vibrant people to
serving the mission of Beads of Courage through the free classes on the art of beadmaking. Thank you Annmarie for being an inspiration to many and for
